Umpqua Rides ParaTransit Service
Overview
Umpqua Rides ParaTransit is a shared-ride, origin-to-destination transportation service designed for individuals with disabilities who are unable to use our regular fixed-route bus service for some or all of their travel needs. Service is available within ¾ of an air mile of the fixed-route system in Roseburg and operates during the same service hours.
This program is open to individuals of all ages who meet eligibility criteria. Riders must complete the application process to determine eligibility.
Key Service Information:
- Eligibility: Available to individuals with qualifying disabilities that prevent use of fixed-route services.
- Trip Purpose: Transportation may be scheduled for any purpose.
- Scheduling: Call the Umpqua Rides dispatch office at 888-232-8121 to schedule your pick-up and return trips. Advance notice is recommended to ensure preferred times.
- Fare Payment: Please have the exact fare amount ready at the time of boarding.
- Mobility Aids: Riders using mobility aids such as walkers or wheelchairs should notify the scheduler in advance to ensure appropriate accommodations.
- Personal Care Attendants (PCA): A PCA may accompany the rider at no additional charge.
- Timeliness: Riders should be prepared and ready at the scheduled time, as drivers must adhere to tight schedules.

No. UTrans is committed to accommodating people with disabilities to enable them to use our regular bus service. All regular UTrans buses are fully accessible to persons who use wheelchairs, scooters or walkers. However, UTrans drivers are unable to perform the duties of a Personal Care Assistant.

- No — You do not qualify to use Paratransit services.
- Yes — You may qualify to use Paratransit services. You must fill out and return the completed application forms. Once your completed application and professional certification are received, it will be processed withing 21 days of receipt.
